Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started

How do I sign in?
Open the app and tap Sign in with Google (Android & iOS) or Sign in with Apple (iOS only). No password is required — authentication is handled securely by your Google or Apple account.

How do I join a neighbourhood group?
Your group manager will share an invite code with you. After signing in, enter the code on the Join screen and tap Join.

Do I need to enter my address?
It's optional. If you add your address, it is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers in plain text. If included in an alert, it is encrypted end-to-end before transmission.

Alerts

How do I send an alert?
Tap the large red ALERT button on the home screen. You'll be asked to confirm before the alert is sent to all members of your group.

What happens when someone sends an alert?
All members of the group receive a high-priority push notification with the title "Neighbourhood Alert". On supported iOS devices, this may trigger a Critical Alert that overrides Do Not Disturb.

Can I accidentally trigger an alert?
There is a confirmation step before any alert is sent. You must tap Send Alert in the confirmation dialog.

Account & Privacy

What data do you collect?
Only your email, display name, device push token, and group membership. See our full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?
In the app, scroll down past the alert button and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account, device tokens, and group memberships from our servers.

Can I sign out without deleting my account?
Yes — tap Sign out on the home screen. Your account remains active and you can sign back in at any time.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving notifications

  1. Check that notifications are enabled for Watch^N in your device settings.
  2. On iOS, ensure you have granted permission for alerts and (if prompted) Critical Alerts.
  3. Make sure you are signed in and have joined a group.
  4. Try signing out and signing back in to refresh your device token.

The invite code isn't working

  • Invite codes are case-insensitive but must be entered exactly as provided.
  • Check with your group manager that the code has not expired or been revoked.

The app won't load or crashes

  • Ensure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Try force-closing and reopening the app.
  • If the issue persists, contact us at support@rmesolutions.com.au with your device model and OS version.

Reporting issues

For bugs, security concerns, or feature requests, email support@rmesolutions.com.au with:

Community Safety

Watch^N is designed to support neighbourhood safety — not replace emergency services. In an emergency, always call 000 (Australia) or your local emergency number first. See our Community Safety guidelines for more information.
